The jury has decided that Isaiah Tryon will be given the death penalty.

OKLAHOMA COUNTY-- A jury will soon decide life or death for the man convicted in the downtown bus station murder.

Final witnesses testified Wednesday in the punishment phase of Isaiah Tryon's trial.

Isaiah Tryon's mother testified for hours on Wednesday afternoon as defense attorneys continue trying to save their client from getting the death penalty.

Tryon's attorneys showed his baby pictures to the jury Wednesday. They said he grew up in a troubled home, that his mother did crack cocaine, and they moved around a lot. Tryon's mother also told the court that his dad abused him. The defense said these claims were the kind of childhood distresses that could lead to criminal behavior.

Last week, it took the jury less than 30 minutes to convict Tryon of 1st degree murder in the death of his former girlfriend, Tia Bloomer.

Surveillance video caught the violent stabbing at the downtown bus station.

In this death penalty phase of the trial, several witnesses, including police officers who've had run-ins with Tryon, have talked about his previous violent incidents.

Tryon had an outburst of anger in court Tuesday, yelling and cursing at the prosecutors. The judge had to excuse the jury while Tryon calmed down.

Through it all, Bloomer's family has been in court, but they're upset Tryon appears to show no remorse.

"What are you smiling for? You took something from us, the mother of your child. I don't get it..." Kevia Bloomer said.

Closing arguments will happen Thursday morning. The jury will then decide between the death penalty, life in prison, or life without parole.
