OKLAHOMA CITY – Officials at Will Rogers World Airport say the airport is open but flights have been significantly impacted by the winter weather storm.

There have dozens of flights cancelled and many delays. Most of the cancellations have been caused because of other flights coming into Oklahoma City not being able to make it.

Airport maintenance crews have been working to clear runways and taxiways to keep the airport operational. Additional airport and parking staff are working to clear sidewalks and roads in front of the terminal and in parking areas.

Operations should improve Monday afternoon as the storm system moves out of the area. It will take most of the day for flights to try and get back on scehdule.

Even with the conditions improving locally, travelers should be aware that as the storm moves east that will impact other cities, including major hubs such as Chicago.
