MASSACHUSETTS – Police in Massachusetts are preparing to charge two men who are accused of playing a disturbing joke on people in town.

So far, three people in Westfield have found rabbit heads in their mailboxes.

Now, Westfield police say two newspaper delivery men are responsible.

According to Westfield police Sergeant Steve Dickinson, the public helped identify the 26-year-old man from Chicopee and the 24-year-old man from Springfield who admitted leaving the severed heads as an Easter morning joke.

The men told police they found five dead rabbits along their newspaper route. The men then took the rabbits home, cut their heads, and left them in random mailboxes between April 14 and April 16th.

Police said the men were not arrested, but that the detective bureau will determine what the appropriate charges are once they complete their investigation.

There are still two rabbit heads unaccounted for.
