YUKON, Okla. – An Oklahoma man accused of having a “sexual obsession with children” is behind bars.

William Reeves, 25, allegedly distributed child pornography online, officials with the Canadian County Sheriff’s Office said.

On Thursday, Nov. 3, officials say Reeves unknowingly shared child pornography with investigators with the Internet Crimes Against Children task force.

After investigators determined the files came from Reeves’ computer, they traveled to the Mable Fry Public Library in Yukon, where Reeves works, and took him back to his house to execute a search warrant.

Investigators were able to determine the man was in possession of child pornography based on an onsite forensic examination on a laptop and his cell phone.

According to the Canadian County Sheriff’s Office, officials collected over 16,000 images and videos on five different electronic devices.

Authorities say these devices contained images and videos of children as young as one-year-old being raped.

Officials say Reeves also had software on his phone that allowed him to download and share child pornography.

“I believe Reeves’ sexual obsession with children was so strong, it forced him to keep his child pornography close.  It wouldn’t surprise me a bit if we discover real live victims as a result of this investigation,” Canadian County Undersheriff Chris West said.

Reeves was arrested and booked into the Canadian County Jail on five counts of aggravated possession of child pornography.

His bond is set at $250,000.

“Reeves and people who possess and distribute child pornography are a danger to our most precious resource, our children.  I pledge to protect our children from monsters who prey on our children’s innocence,” West said.

The Sheriff’s Internet Crimes Against Children unit continues to operate under the Oklahoma State Bureau of Investigations ICAC Task Force.  The United States Secret Service also assisted Canadian County Sheriff’s Office in the execution of the search warrant.
