Disney has announced that they will no longer financially support The Boy Scouts of America, due to the group’s policy on gays.

The Walt Disney Company’s decision to stop funding by the end of 2014 is because of The Boy Scout’s ban on gay adult leaders within their organization.

Although Disney does not provide funding directly to The Boy Scouts, they do donate money to the organization in exchange for volunteer hours completed by Disney employees.

According to reports, a spokesman for the Scouts has stated the group is very disappointed by Disney’s decision because this it could impact the organizations ability to serve the kids.

Last year, The Boy Scouts lifted the ban on gay youth, but it continues to maintain their ban on gay scout leaders.
