OKLAHOMA CITY—Residents lined up across the metro for a chance to save a life and win a new car Saturday.

It was all a part of a joint venture between the Bob Moore Auto Group and the Oklahoma Blood Institute called “I’ve Got Drive!”

More than 1, 000 people stopped by to give blood and enter their name into a drawing to win a new 2012 Nissan Juke.

For most of the donors a new car would be nice but giving blood is just the right thing to do.

Michael Brown said, “I feel it’s a necessity. You donate blood because you have the potential to save someone’s life.”

Organizers say giving blood during the summer months is especially important to keep up with demand.
