The Federal Trade Commission has a new warning for consumers about phone scams.

Officials said it is a new twist on an old trick.

According to the FTC, scammers are calling people who may have been victims of a previous fraud.

The caller claims to be checking on your satisfaction with the service and offering a refund or new service if you are unhappy.

Another tactic they use is claiming the company is going out of business and giving refunds to people who paid for technical support services that will no longer be offered.

Officials said it is all a hoax.

Once you give them your financial information, the scammers are off and running with your money.
