EDMOND, Okla. --  Edmond Police are now coming after two adults following a teen's alleged terrifying threat to blow up his high school.

The 16-year old's reported plot against Edmond North High School unfolded back in March, when his friends told school officials they were concerned about him.

Police later found fuses and explosives inside his home.

Now, police are investigating two of the teen's counselors.

Edmond Police have presented charges against Edmond family counselors Jackie Shaw and Chad McCoy.

Police say the two interfered with their investigation of an Edmond North high schooler's bomb threat.

Investigators say the counselors knew details of the plan, but refused to hand over more information.

They allegedly had access to information that could put their patient's privacy at risk.

Local attorney Ed Blau weighed in on the matter.

"In this particular case, the client had already been found out by the police, therefore there's nothing for a counselor to tell law enforcement... at that point, it's still privileged and confidential," Blau said.

Edmond Police wouldn't comment on the issue.

One of the counselor's attorneys, Greg Mitchell, said the counselors took steps to protect the safety of both the teen and his potential victims.

"We have no concern with any allegations of illegalities or the protocols followed in insuring the confidentiality of our work and safety for others," Mitchell said.

"If that confidentiality isn't absolute, then clients will no longer tell attorneys, tell doctors, tell counselors the truth, or tell them the full story," Blau said.

The teen will remain at a mental health facility. He's facing 17 charges.
