OKLAHOMA CITY – At least eight families are without a home this morning after a fire at an apartment complex near SW 59th St. and Western Ave.

The fire started at the Oak Creek Apartments around 11:50 p.m. on Wednesday night, according to officials.

When crews arrived, they had to take a defensive stance and evacuate at least 30 people because of the blaze.

One firefighter was transported to the hospital with an injury to the hand.

Officials estimate the complex suffered around $150,000 in damage.
