HOLLYWOOD, Calif. – A well-known television star has died at the age of 86.

Dick Van Patten passed away on Tuesday, according to a statement from his representative.

“I am sorry to report this sad news,” the statement, sent to Entertainment Weekly, read. “His family will not be doing any press at this time.”

Van Patten is best known for his roles in “Eight is Enough,” “Spaceballs,” and “Robin Hood: Men in Tights.”

He also appeared on Broadway 28 times throughout his career.

His cause of death has not been released.
