Officials identify driver killed in deadly crash along I-35, Kilpatrick Turnpike

OKLAHOMA CITY – Authorities say a 61-year-old man died after crashing his truck along a busy interstate on Tuesday morning.

Shortly before 12 p.m. on Tuesday, firefighters and troopers with the Oklahoma Highway Patrol were called to an accident near I-35 and the Kilpatrick Turnpike.

Initial reports indicated that one person has died from their injuries at the scene.

Officials with the Oklahoma Highway Patrol say 61-year-old David Edison was driving his 2017 Ford F-150 eastbound on the Kilpatrick Turnpike when he left the road for an unknown reason.

The truck hit a culvert and then came to rest on southbound I-35.

Investigators say Edison was ejected from the truck and died from his injuries at the scene.

At this point, the cause of the crash is under investigation.
