COTTAGE GROVE, Minn. (KARE) – Three kids in Minnesota got a surprise they will never forget Monday morning.
Tomas Timp, 11, his brother Gabriel Timp, 9, and their sister Eliana Timp woke up to a fire truck outside their door.
Their mother Sandra Araujo won a free fire truck ride to school at a recent PTA carnival. They were speechless as they got on the truck. But they didn’t know an even bigger surprise waited at their school.
Their dad, Gabriel Timp, has been serving in Kuwait with the Minnesota Army National Guard was supposed to return at the end of May, but completed his mission early.
This was his fifth and last deployment as he retires.
On Monday, he greeted his kids at their school.
They were in tears as Timp embraced them.
