OKLAHOMA CITY — A 50-year-old man fell from a ladder while trying to remove his own damaged tree limbs from Saturday’s ice storm. Now, EMSA is warning others who are trying to do the same.

The man tumbled from a ladder Sunday afternoon. He was cutting tree limbs that were damaged by last night’s ice storm.

Officials say the man’s ladder gave way due to the ice.

EMSA paramedics transported the patient to a local hospital. They say he is in good condition.

Learn from that man’s lesson and take extreme caution when removing tree limbs by yourself; removal can be very serious and dangerous work.  Iced branches can be very heavy and could come in contact with power lines.

Homeowners are urged to leave tree limb removal to the experts.
