DALLAS, Texas – It’s the most wonderful time of the year, but a few holiday displays are causing problems for pilots.
A new trend in holiday decorations has caused the Federal Aviation Administration to issue a warning to homeowners.
However, the FAA says those laser beams can be hazardous to flights.
According to Today, an American Airlines pilot over Dallas said a laser struck his plane.
Dallas police were able to track it to a home light display.

“It could cause anything from a mild distraction to a complete incapacitation of the pilot, resulting in the aircraft crashing,” said Sgt. Morrie Zager, with the Los Angeles County Sheriff’s Department.
Some makers of the laser light displays warn homeowners to not use the project if they happen to be near an airport.
