Facebook can be one of your favorite social media channels or one of your most hated. Some of the annoyances can be easily fixed.

First, if you are not seeing what you want to see, or the most recent posts click on the button next to the ‘news feed’ under your name on the left-hand side of the page. A drop-down will appear and change that setting to ‘Most Recent’ instead of ‘Top Stories’. This will curate posts based on recent activity.

Next, if you belong to Groups you may be notified on each posting or update. If that is too much you can change this setting too. Click on the Globe on the upper right-hand side of the page and then click ‘settings’. Scroll down the ‘Group Activities’ and there you can decide what kind of notifications you receive, if any.

If you are not into Facebook games but continue to get invitations you can also weed those down. Click on the invite, then hover over it. You will notice on the right-hand side there will be an option to ‘turn off’ the notification. You will have to do this for all games but over time you will see a difference over time in the number you receive.
