Thousands of people packed the Cox Convention Center to celebrate the Red Andrews Christmas Dinner.
The festive get together included free meals and gifts, two things that can be hard for a lot of families to provide this Holiday.
“They’re really a lot of help for Christmas. If we don’t have a lot at home, then this is the best place to come,” said Myra Collinswort.
People get to eat hearty foods like turkey and potatoes, kids get to pick out toys and everyone gets a picture with Santa Clause.
“It’s cute. That’s his first Christmas picture,” said Collinsworth.
For volunteers, spending their holiday serving the community is a rewarding way to celebrate Christmas.
“Sometimes it’s better to give back then just all the time grab toys and eat that,” said Odessa Bethany.
A helping hand, many people in need are thankful for.
“To have people come out and feed me and my family and othe people and their families, it’s just a blessing to be here,” said Donna Jones.
There were around 1,000 volunteers serving 6,000 people at the Red Andrews Christmas Dinner.
