The director of the FBI is clarifying some of the comments he made about marijuana use earlier this week.

The agency’s current policy prohibits hiring anyone who has smoked marijuana in the past 3 years.

But earlier this week, Director James Comey said his agency may have to loosen those restrictions if it wants to hire the best recruits to tackle cyber crimes.

He says a lot of the top computer programmers like to get high.

Today when Comey was asked about those comments, he said it was his attempt at humor.
