Fire in SE Oklahoma City destroys home

OKLAHOMA CITY – A fire destroyed an Oklahoma City family’s home early Tuesday morning.

Around 5:45 a.m., a family was inside their house near SE 89th and Checkerbloom when they heard an explosion coming from the garage.

Fire crews say two vehicles were damaged and 50 percent of the home was damaged.

Firefighters were able to put out the flames in about 15 minutes.

Fortunately, everyone in the house made it to safety.
