DUBLIN, Ireland –  A fitness blogger from Dublin, Ireland is gaining international attention for her heartbreaking Facebook post about domestic violence.

Emma Murphy uploaded a video to her Facebook page this week after she broke up with her boyfriend – the father of her children.

In the video, Murphy talks about her personal experience with being the victim of repeated domestic violence.

“Last year, he split my head open at an event, and prior to that he punched me as well and I had a black eye.”

Although Murphy says the video was difficult to share with everyone, she hopes it will inspire others to stand up to domestic violence.

“Even once is unacceptable,” Murphy says in the video, “but to be made to feel that it is acceptable is even worse. To be mentally tortured and to be told you’re paranoid or insecure. That’s mental torture, and no man should do that to any woman.”

Since uploading the video, it has received more than 125,000 shares on Facebook.
