OKLAHOMA CITY – A flash mob erupted Monday night right outside security at Will Rogers World Airport.

Flash mobs are usually just to entertain but these dancers actually had a very special purpose.

They were there to welcome home Austin Spitler who had been on a church mission trip for two years.

He was only able to communicate with his girlfriend by letter or e-mail.

Brittany Jones knew just the way to welcome him home as she came out of the middle of the flash mob.

“I’ve waited two long years for you. I’d wait an eternity to have you as my husband. Will you marry me?” she said.

Spitler said yes but just moments after hugging his fiancee, he walked away to retrieve the ring he had tucked in his backpack.

And not to be outdone, he also got down on one knee.

“I love you. Will you marry me?” Spitler asked Jones.

Yeses on both sides clinched the deal.

“Oh my gosh, this is the greatest day of my life,” Spitler said.

And those flash mobbers?

Well, Jones’ mom works at Southwest and they’ve started a tradition of flash mobs.

“She e-mailed us and said, ‘would you like to do this,’ And we said sure, we’re doing a flash mob anyways,” J.D. Bynum said.

Bynum and Nina Williamson choreographed the moves, fitting in rehearsals over the last three weeks.

“Oh man! I’m so glad that we got to share in this,” Bynum said.

“Tearjerker,” Williamson said.

“I wanted to see his face. I wanted to see him. I haven’t seen him for two years so it’s still very very exciting,” Jones said.

“Yeah, I was shocked! It’s overwhelming for sure,” Spitler said.

Spitler said he wasn’t upset that Jones proposed first.

He said it worked out perfectly and that two years apart only made him realize how much he loves her.

Spitler and Jones plan to get married next month in San Diego.
