Ford recalls 1.1 million vehicles for power steering problems

WASHINGTON (CNN) – Ford is recalling over a million vehicles in the United States to fix a steering defect.

Ford is recalling 1.1 million vehicles after a glitch could cause drivers to lose power steering.

The recall covers about 915,000 Ford Escapes and the Mercury Mariners that were built between 2008 and 2011.

It also involves about 196,000 Ford Explorers that were made between 2011 and 2013.
