TULSA, Okla.- A 28-year-old Tulsa man has been sentenced to 117 months in prison for importing a synthetic compound drug.

Authorities say Gus Travis Poole Jr. was arrested for importing nearly 1,000 grams of Methylone into the country.

He is also charged with possession of a firearm in commission of a drug trafficking crime.

Methylone is a controlled substance known as “mollies” on the street.

From January through March 2013, Homeland Security Investigations issued several warrants related to packages of Methylone crossing the border from China.

An investigation led police to Poole, who had prior felony convictions for robbery with a dangerous weapon and burglary.
