Free Mammograms for Breast Cancer Awareness Month

A local group, Oklahoma Project Woman, is working to ensure every woman has access to mammograms this month and every month, regardless of their financial situation.

They are helping women without insurance or who have fallen on hard times get mammograms, diagnostic procedures and surgical services.

Fall Festival at Chickasaw Cultural CenterChickasaw Cultural Center

The Chickasaw Cultural Center is inviting everyone to their Fall Festival Saturday.

You can stroll through the pumpkin patch, learn the traditional stomp dance, play stickball and don’t miss the roasted corn.

The festival is free from 10 a.m. to 5 p.m.

However, the exhibit center has an admission fee.

Dogtober Pet Adoption SpecialsShelter dogs

Oklahoma City Animal Welfare is celebrating “Dogtober” this month with frightfully discounted adoption prices.

You can adopt puppies and dogs for just $30.

All dogs have their shots, are spayed or neutered and dewormed.

Saturday bring the whole family for the circus-themed event.

Organizers said there will be games, free pet ID tags, popcorn, snow cones, giveaways and a keepsake picture frame for adopters.

Haunt the Oklahoma River

Creatures of the night only have two weekends to Haunt the Oklahoma River.

Saturday you can catch a free freaky double feature starting at dusk.

Casper the friendly ghost is up first followed by… who you gonna call? Ghostbusters!

You can also try punkin’ chunkin’ from the Zombie Zip or check out the Boo Zone, Candy Corn Climb, Ghost Bounce, Bat Launch and Spider Climb.

However, those activities will cost you a few bucks.
