OKLAHOMA CITY –  A funeral was held Thursday for an Oklahoma City police dog, who died in the line of duty on Monday.

The funeral for Kye was this morning, Aug. 28, at First Southern Baptist Church, located at 6400 S. Sooner Rd.

The services will be conducted with full police honors and it will be open to the public.

Police say Kye was killed in the line of duty after a high speed chase.

An Oklahoma City Police officer also shot and killed the armed suspect.

Police chased the suspect, who has been identified as 22-year-old Mark Salazar, for 30 minutes before the shooting.

The pursuit sped through Moore, Norman and ended along I-35 near Goldsby.

After crashing his car, officers say Salazar tried to run on foot.
