OKLAHOMA CITY – Get ready for some feline fun, Oklahoma!

More than 100 cats and household pets are coming to Oklahoma to compete for prizes at the annual Oklahoma City Cat Club show.

Show manager Janis Walkingstick says various breeds of cats will be shown at the event.

“We’re hoping all the interest about cats on the internet will spill over to cat shows where some really fascinating breeds are displayed,” Walkingstick said.

Judges from across the country will pick their top 10 cats for final awards.

But judges won’t be the only people who get to vote for their favorite cats.  Spectators during the day will also have a chance to vote for his or her favorite cat or kitten in the entire show.

A special “People’s Choice” rosette will be awarded to the special cat and its owner at 4 p.m. Saturday.

Spectators will also be able to enter a raffle and visit vendors who will have pet items for sale.

If you are looking to add a cat to your family, don’t forget to visit with PAWS-OK rescue group.  Show officials say the group plans on having some adoptable pets at the show.

If you want to enter your household pets or pedigreed cats into the show, make sure you contact Sheryl Zink at (281)379-3897 before April 1.

The show will take place on April 4, from 9 a.m. to 4 p.m. at the Biltmore Hotel in Oklahoma City.

Charges for show:

  • Adults – $4.00
  • Children 5-12 and Seniors – $3.00
