OKLAHOMA CITY – Just days before Christmas, the state veterinarian is putting the minds of children at ease.

State Veterinarian Dr. Rod Hall wants children to know that Santa’s reindeer have been cleared to travel through the state of Oklahoma.

“I have worked diligently with Dr. Robert Gerlach, State Veterinarian of Alaska, to ensure that Santa’s reindeer have been inspected, have met Oklahoma’s entry requirements, and are properly documented on a Certificate of Veterinary Inspection in anticipation of their trip across Oklahoma on Christmas Eve,” a statement from Dr. Hall said.

The Certificate of Veterinary Inspection shows that Dasher, Dancer, Donner, Blitzen, Comet, Cupid, Prancer, Vixen and Rudolph have all been approved for travel throughout Oklahoma.

The reason listed is for ‘toy delivery’ and the method of transport is ‘air.’
