PICKENS COUNTY, S.C. (WYFF) – A 43-year-old South Carolina woman is accused of giving her grandson a lethal dose of oxycodone in a sippy cup.

Deputies with the Pickens County Sheriff’s Office were called to a home after learning that a child was not breathing.

The 14-month-old boy was pronounced dead after being taken to a hospital.

According to WYFF, the coroner conducted an autopsy and found that the toddler had a lethal dose of oxycodone in his system.

Investigators determined oxycodone was found in a sippy cup that was given to the boy by his grandmother.

On Thursday, Angela Denise Brewer was arrested and charged with homicide by child abuse.
