SAUDI ARABIA – A Filipino maid is suffering from severe burns after she said her employer’s mother threw boiling water on her as punishment.

23-year-old, Fatima says she worked for the Arab family for only two months before the incident.

Fatima claims her employer’s mother threw boiling water on her for being too slow at work.

She also says she was not given her salary or provided with proper meals.

Fatima is asking for help in filing a case against her employer.

She’s in the custody of the assistance to nationals section of the Philippine embassy.

A representative from the department of social welfare and development said they are providing Fatima with food, clothing, and toiletries and medicine.
