OKLAHOMA CITY, OKLAHOMA -- It's a subject that goes deeper than 'how was your day at school', harder to read than questions about what friends you made that day.

Something like getting picked on for no reason is difficult for children to talk about.

But at this gathering in Oklahoma City bullying is something with which most of these kids are all too familiar.

Like most kids, 6th grader Colton Abernathy finds it hard to describe, but easy to the sting.

Colton speaks haltingly, "Then there was another thing that happened in math class."

Three years ago Stacy Hatcher's daughter Kaitlyn and her best friend Destiny Cooper saw a bully picking on a neighbor.

Their response together formed a small organization called Knock Out Bullying, and, eventually, this, a little outing they called Fishing With Friends.

"We needed to get this stopped before it got worse," says Destiny.

Stacy says, "These kids get to go and they get to sit down and they get to talk while they try to fish and catch something hopefully."

Stacy grew up fishing so she pout out the word to her network of contacts.

This spring the kids started showing up.

Believe it or not, Dillon Krager gets a little quiet too when asked to talk about what's happened to him in past years, before his best friend Jacob came along.

"We sit at the same table," they say. "And we sit at the same table during our math class."

So what is it about a cane pole, a hook, a bobber, and a half-worm?

Why is fishing one of those activities that seem to remove stress and promote peace?

That's a subject that might be worth talking about while fishing with friends.

Catching the little ones and keeping the sharks at bay.
