OKLAHOMA CITY  10.9.14 - We're learning more about a deadly shootout at an Oklahoma City motel.

Four people remain hospitalized, including two police officers, after a gun battle erupted along I-35 on Wednesday afternoon.

The chaotic shootout ended when Samantha Monden was killed in the middle of the street.

Her father says the 30-year-old mother of two will be missed.

"I miss her hugs. I miss her kisses. I miss her arguments. I miss everything about her," said Sam, Monden's father.

Police say the gunfight started with a call to police of a possible kidnapping.

"They received a call by a woman who claimed to be kidnapped and held against her will," said Capt. Dexter Nelson, with the Oklahoma City Police Department.

Captain Nelson says when two officers arrived to the motel room, they were met with gunfire.

Police say Shane Rhea then used Monden as a human shield trying to escape down the interstate.

"He held the woman from behind using her as a shield. He then shot her," said Nelson.

With Monden killed, MSgt. Jeff Locke returned fire, shooting Rhea.

In addition to the murder charge against Rhea, two other suspect's inside the room were arrested.

Police say Bonnie Boen and Erik Patterson both had outstanding warrants.

"I don't have any details as to what happened or why it happened," said Sam.

Monden's father doesn't know why the victim would have been in the motel room, but she does leave behind a husband and two young kids.

"I love my daughter and I always will but my main concern is to raise those babies," said Sam.

Rhea has a lengthy criminal history.

He had just been released from prison in June of this year.

A fourth person was also shot.

He has not yet been arrested.

Police say that person was shot in the back by the accused killer.
