OKLAHOMA CITY - Thanks for being patient while we do mandatory work on the KAUT equipment.
You will need to rescan your TV if you watch KAUT, Freedom 43 on an antenna.
IF You *have* rescanned, but KAUT doesn't come in or work for you please be patient.
This transition is taking place due to the FCC needing certain frequencies. There are thousands of stations across the country that will have to be doing this exact thing over the next 7 years.
We are currently operating at reduced power during this transition. The reason we are at reduced power is that we are replacing equipment at the top of the broadcast tower at an elevation of over 1,400 feet above the ground. High winds, winter weather, and shorter winter days do play a big role in the time it takes for our crews to complete the work.
Over the next few weeks we will be back at full power, so please continue to scan periodically. If you are using an indoor antenna try moving it to a window. Or even better use an outdoor antenna.
Depending on your location, you may or may not receive the signal right away. The critical aspects in consideration in order for you to receive any free, Over-the-Air (OTA) TV signal, would be physical structures (your home) and your TV antenna’s surroundings. We broadcast our programs in the form of radio waves, so the least amount of obstructions between your TV antenna and our broadcast tower - the better your reception will be.
If the OTA signal is even partially impacted by obstructions, it can cause errors in the reception resulting in audio dropouts, pixilation and/or stuttering in the video or possibly not even being able to receive the signal at all.
The station will be on low-power for several weeks.

If you receive KAUT through a cable or satellite provider, you don't have to do anything.
In order to re-scan your TV, there are just a few quick steps you need to take:
- Grab the remote.
- Push the "Input" or "Menu" button.
- Scroll through the options. You'll want to select either "Channel," "Setup" or "TV" based on your television set.
- Select "Scan" or "Auto-Scan."
- Hit "Start."
