She's an Oklahoma native who is about to compete in one of the world's toughest competitions.

Dr. Amanda Stevens is taking on the Ironman World Championships next month in Hawaii.

She is just one of 1,800 athletes that will embark on their 140.6 mile journey that represents the ultimate test of body, mind and spirit, to earn the title of "Ironman.”

She is the current record holder for the fastest female swimmer at the Kona Ironman World Championships.

The Ironman is in Kona, Hawaii Oct. 13.
