OKLAHOMA CITY — Thousands of animals end up at the shelter each year. The holiday season is a great time to help by donating to the shelter, or adding a new member to your family.

Animal Welfare has a list on Amazon where donors can select items and have them shipped directly to the OKC Animal Shelter. You can also go to Animal Welfare’s website to donate cash.

“Consider giving the gift of life with a $60 gift certificate, which will cover the cost of a pet adoption at the OKC Animal Shelter for a family member or friend who wants a pet,” the Shelter said.

You can also drop off donation items from 9 a.m. to 5:45 p.m. every day, except holidays, at the OKC Animal Shelter, 2811 SE 29.

All donations are tax deductible. Children under age 18 who donate will be added to the Kids for OKC Animals program for helping shelter pets.
