Hideaway Pizza founder Richard Dermer passes away

OKLAHOMA – Hideaway Pizza founder, Richard Dermer passed away late Friday, according to multiple reports.

The pizzeria was founded by Richard Dermer and Marti Dermer in 1957 in Stillwater, Okla.

At the time, it was only the second pizzeria in Oklahoma.

A Stillwater native, Dermer worked at Hideaway before he and his wife Marti decided to purchase the pizzeria.

Not only was Dermer passionate about pizza, later he developed a love for kites.

Dermer and his wife’s kite collection has been seen on the walls of the Stillwater Hideaway Pizza restaurant.
