WASHINGTON, N.J.  - A community in New Jersey is mourning the death of a high school football player following a game on Friday.

According to WPIX, 17-year-old Evan Murray died Friday after being injured during a football game at Warren Hills Regional High School.

Fans and teammates didn't think the injury was very severe, saying Murray even walked off the field under his own power.

A short time later, he collapsed.

The medical examiner's office said Murray died from massive internal bleeding due to a tear in his spleen.
