***The National Weather Service has issued a WIND ADVISORY for much of the state. This is in effect from 1 p.m. today to 7 a.m. tomorrow.

A HIGH WIND WARNING is in effect for the Oklahoma Panhandle.

A RED FLAG WARNING has been issued for most of central Oklahoma for this afternoon and evening. ***

A cold front will move through our state this afternoon and evening and high winds will follow around 30-45 mph with gusts to 60 mph.

Winds will increase out of the southwest raising the fire danger to “extreme.”

The winds will stay up through Wednesday morning and then drop back for the afternoon.

Temperatures will be noticeably cooler in the 50s.

Temperatures will quickly rebound with above normal temps through Saturday.

Another storm system will impact the second half of the weekend but does not look as strong as it did yesterday.Oklahoma Forestry Services  is urging you to be aware of the critical fire weather will will most likely remain elevated at least until the weekend.

“We are asking Oklahomans to pay close attention to the fire weather forecast over the next few days,” said George Geissler, Oklahoma State Forester.  “For the safety of our citizens and our state’s firefighters, we are advising people to avoid outdoor burning until conditions improve.”
