LEXINGTON, Okla. - A hit-and-run accident sends an unsuspecting jogger to the hospital but the person behind the wheel is still nowhere to be found.

Corey Berlier says most people are friendly and wave at him while he is out running, but his most recent run left him with broken bones, bruises and a police report.

Earlier this month, Berlier had a night to himself and decided to go for a jog near his home, just outside of Slaughterville and Lexington.

"She went to the movies," Berlier said. "I decided to go on a run before she got home."

He was on the last stretch of his jog, running in the grass just off the shoulder of the road.

Berlier said, "I was trying to get over right about here and that's where he hit me."

The white SUV  hit him so hard it broke his arm and ripped off the passenger's side mirror of the car.

He said, "I kind of fell down in this."

The force of the hit threw Berlier into the ditch and knocked the wind out of him.

He says he was running against traffic and could see the car coming.

Berlier says any alert driver would have seen him too.

"He's getting kind of close, and by the time that happened, he hit me and I was on the ground," he said. "I tried to turn around to see if I could see a plate number, but I couldn't see anything. He was already gone."

Berlier called his mother-in-law to take him to the emergency room.

He went to the scene the next day, but says the car's mirror and any remnants of the accident were gone.

Berlier's arm is now in a cast and the bruises on his stomach are healing.

However, the driver who hit him is nowhere to be found.

"Check to see if someone's okay. Luckily, it was just my arm," Berlier said. "You could have killed someone easily."

Berlier filed a report with the Cleveland County Sheriff's Office.

Deputies are looking for the small white SUV that hit Berlier and say it could still be missing that passenger's side mirror.
