HARRAH, Okla.—An honorary Harrah police officer was laid to rest Saturday after succumbing to a life-threatening illness.
Logan Luka weighed just 1 pound 2 oz. at birth and was not expected to survive.
However, his will to live astonished doctors and inspired everyone else.
Logan was diagnosed with Cerebral Palsy along with a host of other medical ailments.
Despite those illnesses, the joy he had for life touched hundreds of lives.
“That little boy had the biggest heart and he has the most amazing smile. Eyes that make you melt when you look into them,” his mother told us.
His family says Logan always dreamed of becoming a police officer and he was able to live that dream.
He became an honorary officer with the Harrah Police Department last year.
Phil Stewart with the Harrah Police Department said, “In his own way, he touched everyone’s life and it was absolutely amazing.”
Tragically, Logan lost his battle on Monday .
A service was held Saturday afternoon for hundreds of people who wanted to say goodbye to an amazing 5-year-old.
His fellow officers from various agencies sat in the front row of the church to pay their respects.
At the end of the service, Logan was relieved of his duties as his K-9 partner said goodbye.
He was transported to his final resting place in a motorcycle fit for an officer.
The Luka family would like to thank all of the viewers who prayed for Logan and donated items he desperately needed.
