MANHATTAN, N.Y. (WPIX) – A high-profile hotel is now apologizing for the way it treated a sailor.

The Standard Hotel is no stranger to controversy.

Its name became associated with the elevator fight between Jay Z, Beyonce and Solange last year.

Now, the hotel is accused of delivering sub-standard service to a service member.

On Saturday night, a female naval officer in her uniform was told she couldn’t enter the hotel’s bar because her uniform didn’t fit the dress code.

According to WPIX, the officer was out with her friends, who were all dressed for cocktails.

However, she was in town for Fleet Week and the bouncer wouldn’t budge.

The Standard Hotel sent WPIX a statement, saying, “We hold those serving in the United States Armed Forces in the highest regard. This was a mistake and we sincerely apologize.”
