HOUSTON –  A Houston mother is charged with capital murder after two of her children were found dead under a neighbor’s house over the weekend.

On Sunday, a friend was talking with Sheborah Thomas, 30, when she said she needed help moving “right away,” KPRC reports.

When the man asked Thomas about her children, she allegedly admitted to killing them.

“She was so matter-of-fact about it, he didn’t think she was serious. He thought she was joking,” Houston police spokesperson Kese Smith said. “He continued to help her pack.”

When the man realized the woman wasn’t kidding, he drove her to a nearby police station.

That is when police say Thomas admitted to drowning her 7-year-old son, RayRay, and her 5-year-old daughter, Kayana, in a bathtub, KPRC reports.

Thomas reportedly told authorities that she wrapped her children’s bodies in bed sheets and put them under a neighbor’s house.

At this time, authorities say they are not aware of Thomas having any history of mental health problems.

According to KHOU, the woman also has a 12-year-old son, but he was not home at the time.

Thomas was arrested and charged with capital murder.
