OKLA. CITY – It took more than a year, but law enforcement finally nabbed fugitive, Glenn McCoy.
Oklahoma Assistant Attorney General Julie Bays tells the In Your Corner team McCoy was picked up by U.S. Marshals in Louisville where he’s been hiding out from us and authorities.
“We’re very relieved,” Bays said. “We allege he took at least $170,000 from the homeowners in the state of Oklahoma.”
McCoy’s accused of defrauding families we’ve featured right here on In Your Corner, including Kathy Chow, a tornado victim, who lost everything.
“I just got through with stage 4 cancer and going through a divorce and now this,” she said.
Prior to McCoy bolting out of the state he avoided our camera at all costs.
McCoy will get his day in court.
Prosecutors say they’re moving forward with their case.
“It’s our hope that as we keep prosecuting these that at some point people will realize do not pay money up front,” he said. “Be careful who you pick and call our office to see if we have any complaints on the individual or company and take precaution before you hand over that money.
McCoy is scheduled to appear in a Kentucky courtroom Friday.
Right now he’s not fighting extradition.
Cleveland county deputies will go to Louisville to bring him back to Oklahoma where’ he’ll face the embezzlement charges.
