EDMOND, Okla. - Chase and Morgan Vernotzy furnished their new house from scratch.

The newlyweds keep adding furniture, including a dining room table, although it wasn't their first choice.

“It's sad,” Morgan said. “I want to be the trusting one in the world.”

The young couple hired woodworker Kenny Wiggins to build them a new reclaimed oak table.

They put $850 down and wrote Wiggins a check.

He cashed it but, three months later, they still don’t have their table or chairs.

“He made a ton of excuses, whether it be family-related or, ‘Oh I'm out of town’ or ‘I'm doing this or that,’” Chase said.

We stopped by Wiggins' home looking for Chase and Morgan's furniture.

We got the woodworker on the phone.

He initially told us he didn't know anything about Chase and Morgan's order and had no idea they were suing him.

“No, I haven't had anybody over, anybody serve me with anything,” Wiggins said.

We know several customers are suing him right now.

Court records show more financial problems for Wiggins, including an eviction, default judgments and bogus check charges that were later dismissed.

“First off, me or my wife writing checks that didn't clear in the past has nothing to do with my work,” Wiggins said.

Sharon Turner is another dissatisfied customer.

“I work too hard to just throw away $200,” she said.

She ordered a cabinet from Wiggins, something to store her quilt collection.

Wiggins said he tried delivering her cabinet weeks ago but didn't, because Sharon couldn't make her final payment.

“I said, ‘Well I'll try to get it to you anyway this week,’" he said. “Ended up [I] couldn't do it. My truck broke down.”

Sharon claims that wasn't how things went down.

She wants her money back.

Wiggins promises us he'll fix things, but Sharon and the Vernotzy family said he hasn't reached out to them yet to apologize or talk about a refund.

We'll check back.

Scott got a hold of a third dissatisfied customer.

She said Wiggins contacted her last week about a refund, but she hasn't heard back from him since.
