ENID,Okla. - We first told you about the Cashion High School band earlier this week.

As the football team was preparing for the state championship game, fans were begging for a chance to bring back the band.

For three years, fans and cheerleaders were responsible for bringing the noise.

This year, alumni and current students decided to change that.

After a three year hiatus, a select few took the field without pads and cleats.

The band showed up on Friday to play on the biggest night of the season for Cashion, the 1A Oklahoma high school football state championships.

"People said they wanted a band, they wanted to hear the spirit and the happiness, they want to hear it again," Tyler Persechino, a former band member, said.

"All year, we've been singing the fight song. It's exhausting," Ashley Pittman, a cheerleader, said.

The makeshift band was made up of current and former students who checked out instruments from the high school.

"For our alumni to be here and do this is, like, beyond awesome," Larry Blehm, a fan, says.

The alumni, much like a fairy godmother, granted the wish to bring the band back.

"Everybody's been so positive and we just rallied together with just two rehearsals," Lanna Mullens, a former drum major, says.

"These people are awesome. They've only been practicing like two days. I mean, come on Wildcat up, get ya some!!" Blehm said.

No matter what the score, the team knows it has the band to support it through it all.

"I've never seen everybody be so excited to see a band, it's a huge deal for this town," Persechino says.

"Thank you, thank you, thank you very much!" Blehm says.

The alumni hope this will send a message that a band and music is always important.
