JC Penney will close 40 stores in 2015

A popular company announced that several department stores would be closing their doors in 2015.

JC Penney said on Thursday that it will close 40 stores over the next year.

According to Joey Thomas, a company spokesman, the closures will affect about 2,250 employees.

NBC News says most locations on the list will close around April 4.

Business Insider says no stores in Texas or Oklahoma are affected by the move.
