OKLAHOMA CITY – A JROTC instructor at an Oklahoma City high school was arrested Monday morning for allegedly sexually assaulting a female student.

On Sept. 23, a 16-year-old student at John Marshall High School told police that she stayed after school a few days earlier to practice for JROTC Honor Guard.

After practice, she said she asked the instructor, 52-year-old Paul Bianchi, to take her home.

The teen girl said that Bianchi agreed and asked her to wait inside his classroom.

When Bianchi came into the classroom, he reportedly started to massage the girl’s neck.

The girl told police that Bianchi moved his hands down her body and groped her breasts.

The 16-year-old girl said she told her instructor that “he had better stop before he does something foolish,” the police report states.

Bianchi then drove the girl home.

The girl reported the incident to authorities.

After interviewing Bianchi, police arrested the instructor for sexual assault.

He has since been booked into the Oklahoma County Jail.

Oklahoma City Public Schools released a statement following Bianchi’s arrest:

On September 23, 2016 administrators at John Marshall Mid-High School were notified by a student about inappropriate behavior by the school’s Junior Reserve Officer Training Corps (JROTC) instructor.  School administrators contacted Oklahoma City Police immediately, and an internal investigation by Oklahoma City Public School (OKCPS) was conducted as well with quick action taken by administrators to remove the instructor from the classroom.

As a result of the preliminary investigation by police, the instructor was taken into custody and arrested.  The employee is currently on administrative leave with pay pending the ongoing investigation.  The employee has been with OKCPS since September 2008.

Bianchi was previously a finalist for the title of district teacher of the year.
