LAS VEGAS, Nev. — Oklahoma City Thunder star Kevin Durant is happy that LeBron James was able to return home to the Cleveland Cavaliers, according to the Bleacher Report.
Durant said he liked the way James announced his move with a letter.
When the spotlight went back to Durant and his future plans, he said he’s looking at all his options, according to the Bleacher Report.
Durant becomes a free agent in 2016 and there’s speculation the Washington Wizards are wooing the basketball star back to his hometown of Washington, D.C.
“It’s being talked about. Everybody’s asking me about it,” Durant said. “Every time I go on Instagram or Twitter, all my friends ask me about it. So I’m not going to sit here and act like I’m naive to the fact that people think about that stuff. But I just tell everybody, ‘Look, I’m here in Oklahoma City. I love it here. Who knows what’ll happen’?'”
When people question why NBA players would want to stay in Oklahoma City, Durant has a simple answer.
“It’s kind of tough to sell guys on Oklahoma City [over] Chicago, Oklahoma City [over] L.A. But if they come to Oklahoma City and see the love that they get there, guys will want to come,” Durant said.
Durant told the Bleacher Report that he knows people will be disappointed with whatever choice he makes.
The OKC Thunder star also knows decisions will come up down the road, but for now, he only worries about where he is today.
“I love my teammates, my coaches, the front office, the city,” he said. “But we’ll see.”
