OKLAHOMA CITY – Police say a tip led to the arrest of two of three people who allegedly robbed a retired Oklahoma City firefighter.
Authorities say 18-year-old Brandon Reich and 18-year-old Austin Revels were arrested Friday evening in connection with the case.
A third suspect is still on the loose.
Gravitt said he was walking his dogs when three people in a pick-up stopped to ask for directions and gas money.
Gravitt said he gave them a couple of bucks, and then the passenger grabbed his wallet.
Gravitt hung on to the wallet as the driver sped off and dragged him several feet down the road.
Surveillance video shows the truck running over Gravitt’s leg before getting away.
Gravitt and his wife say they can rest a little easier now, knowing two of the suspects were arrested.
"I'm very happy about it. That they're in custody now and they can't do this to nobody else. I feel relieved that they're off the street," Gravitt said. "I'm very thankful and grateful for whoever called back and identified those folks.”
They were not only caught on camera robbing Gravitt, but also trying to steal from his neighbor.
"I was mad. I was so mad," Gravitt said.
From Gravitt, the trio got away with about $700 dollars and some credit cards.
"Money can be replaced, but I'm thankful I still have my life and my health. I would have to say I give the credit to God because he protected me," Gravitt said.
Gravitt said he has since forgiven those that took from him.
Now he wants to thank everyone who helped catch the suspects, including his neighbor who caught them on tape, police and the media.
"I think ya'll done an excellent job,” Gravitt said. “I appreciate your good work."
