LINCOLN COUNTY, Okla. - Officials have identified the man whose body was found burned in a fire pit.

This week, three children were looking for their pet cat when they made the gruesome discovery.

The sheriff says most of the body was badly burned.

"We know from about the knees down, we have two white legs of a male subject. The rest of it is too unrecognizable, he was burnt that bad," said Sheriff Dougherty.

On Friday, officials identified the victim as 52-year-old Jeffrey Piotrowski.

His cause and manner of death are pending further studies, officials at the medical examiner's office said.

Authorities say he lived alone in an RV by the fire pit.

Right now, investigators are trying to figure out if this was just a tragic accident or something much more serious.
