OKLAHOMA CITY– Residents at the Jesus House received a special gift on Saturday.

Little Caesars “Love Kitchen,” a program that feeds tens-of-thousands of homeless people each year, stopped by to help the Jesus House in their efforts to feed our homeless here in the Sooner State.

Little Caesars says their “Love Kitchen” is out serving to make a difference.

Residents at the Jesus House said they’re getting back on their feet, and something as simple as a hot meal can make all the difference in the world.

Dale Hauser says he was in a bad place before the Jesus House took him in.

“If there was any chance I would have kept going like that, I probably would have been six-feet under. I came in here and I pretty much hated everything and everybody, including myself,” Hauser said.

His time at the Jesus House changed that.

“Being here has just kind of helped me to open my eyes and open my heart,”Hauser said.

Serving others is teaching him to overcome his hatred.

Excecutive Director for the Jesus House Michael Bateman says it’s therapeutic for them to lend their service to their communities.

That service was rewarded on Saturday when Little Caesars “Love Kitchen” stopped at the Jesus House to give residents pizza for their service.

For some it’s more than pizza, it’s a slice of compassion.

“It gives us a little hope and understanding that people, the community understands what we do here and they come in and they want to give back and want to help out anyway they can,” Bateman said.

For one of the first times in Dales life, he’s serving, and he’s learned that the smallest gesture can make a big impact.

“It’s just another example of how big people’s hearts are, and how important this program is. I mean look at it, you’ve got Little Caesars coming here to feed everybody,” Hauser said.
