OKLAHOMA CITY -- A local team of specialists is creating a new program that will award one recipient with a brand new smile.

"We're shocked at the overwhelming response that we're getting," said Dr. Robert Bryan II. "Second Chance Smile is a program that we recently launched that is designed to give someone a second opportunity to have a smile of a lifetime."

The Oral Surgery Specialists of Oklahoma 's program will give one lucky person a full arch restoration free of charge.

"The idea here is we're looking for someone who really needs that opportunity to have a smile that they've always wanted and it's just out of grasp for them," Dr. Bryan said.

The surgery typically costs about $50,000. It's a permanent solution for decaying and broken teeth, which is something specialists say is more common than you might think.

"There are far more people than we realize. So many people out walking around that you just may or may not even realize that we see every day," Dr. Jeremy Goodson said.

That's why Dr. Bryan and Dr. Goodson came up with the idea for Second Chance Smile, and they're hoping it'll become a reoccurring thing.

"We've seen, already, touching words. People who are in need. We're just really excited to be able to help fill that need for somebody," Dr. Goodson said.
